As we all know, there’s a wealth of creative talent in the Sheffield area. This fact was recently supported by a report which stated that our creativeand digital sector is the strongest in the UK. So, we all know about the talented people who are doing great work in the city, but what about those who also do great work outside the city?
With the above in mind, The Culture Club hosted a unique event to celebrate Sheffield’s creative talent doing great work outside the city and helping to fly the Sheffield flag around the world. This is the first of three special events which is linked to Sheffield City Council’s three core areas for its Cultural Strategy; Impact, Excellence, and Participation.
The event was held at the Site Gallery and we had a range of people to showcase what they were doing outside the city. The presenters were: Hantu Collective, Forced Entertainment, South Yorkshire Film Network, Coda, Human Studios, The Crookes, Third Angel, Article magazine, Team Cooper, Faunagraphic and Nick Deakin.
Don’t forget to get the latest news from following @thenorth and @sheffculture along with the hash tag #sheffculture.
The next event will be on Wednesday 21st September, and we will be linking up with University of Sheffield. Watch this space…
