For an idea of the kind of projects we like to work on, see below:
Made By Jonty (July 2010)
Brief
Made By Jonty, Sheffield’s newest ‘gastro-cafe’, approached us to organise their launch PR. Of course, we were more than happy to take up the offer.
Strategy
Firstly we did a quick marketing audit to work out what the brand should be about, and also got the initial press release out to the relevant press contacts. The main event was the official launch, and we also helped them get their Twitter account off the ground.
Result
Made By Jonty now has a strong brand identity, on and off line. There’s increased awareness and a buzz about the ‘gastro-cafe. And the invite-only launch event saw the guests enjoy Pimms, deck chairs and Made By Jonty’s salad bar.

Pecha Kucha Sheffield #01 (2010)
Brief
Pecha Kucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of “chit chat“, it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
We, along with Clare MacKenzie and Jonny Douglas, manage to secure the exclusive rights to organise Pecha Kucha Nights in Sheffield. Our aim is to bring together talented and creative people in the region to present to an eclectic mix of attentive guests. We will be hosting 4 special events over before spring 2011.
Strategy
For the launch event, we wanted to keep it intimate and host it in a new an exciting venue, whilst keeping the overall evening informal and relaxed. The theme was ‘WTF’ and we let the presenters loose on their own interpretation.
Result
The venue was a great new place in Kelham Island called The Chimney House. Presenters were Ian Anderson, Article Magazine, Andy Mayer and Wildago. We hope to continue to push for informal, relaxed and boutique approach for the other 3 events…
Warp20 (Sheffield) (September 2009)
Brief
We were asked by Warp to manage the PR for the Warp20 (Sheffield) events in the Sheffield area. They wanted highlight the influence that Sheffield has had on its record label when it was set up in the city 20 years ago, and to showcase the diverse areas they now cover including Warp Films.
Strategy
We approached some of our music press contacts to inform them of the Warp20 celebrations and sell in the history of Warp. The main events included an outdoor cinema at Park Hill flats (largest listed building in Europe) showing the English premiere of ‘All Tomorrow’s Parties: The Movie’, and ‘The Living Room’ a new short film by Shane Meadows. And a club event at Magna for several thousand people with the likes of Squarepusher, Nightmare on Wax and Andrew Weatherall.

West.ONE Wednesday (August 2009)
Brief
As part of the Wednesday Night Live events, we were asked by CreativeSheffield to help promote the West.ONE complex to encourage shoppers and young professionals to enjoy what the bars, shops, and restaurants there have to offer.
Strategy
We came up with the idea to push West.ONE as the ‘Covent Garden’ of Sheffield – creating a lively outdoor space buzzing with people eating/drink and being entertained. Retailers involved were Vodka Revolution, Bar 23, Centro, Avorio Bridal, Prego, Las Iguanas, Antibo, Wigs and Warpaint, Each to Their Own, Dosanj, East One and Bar 360. For the design, we went for a stylish and modern approach to reflect the mix of retail on offer at West.ONE.
Results
We had some good mentions in the local press. And on the day itself, it was a nice sunny evening which encourage several hundred people to enjoy what West.ONE had to offer. As well as entertainment provided by BenZ (street magic) and Chris Hicks (Michael Jackson performer), all the bars, shops and restaurants had various special offers and give-aways to intice the guests.

Oliver/Dawson Saxon Gig (July 2009)
Brief
To come up with a music event which would create a buzz around the city and to kick start Wednesday Night Live 2009.
Strategy
Working with Ralph Razor, we managed to persuade old school local rockers Oliver/Dawson Saxon to play a one-off gig. With the support of CreativeSheffield, we managed to secure the use of Sheaf Square (outside Sheffield Train Station) for the event which was first of its kind for the location. The poster and flyer had an old school look and feel to it which went well with the ODS brand.
Results
We got some good press coverage and there was a good buzz on various social websites. This resulted in around 600 people coming along on the evening which along with great sunny weather, created a great atmosphere. And the band, despite their age, definitely rocked the place!

WasabiSabi 5th Anniversary Party (February 2009)
Brief
The award-winning Japanese restaurant asked us again to help organise their anniversary party. They wanted to keep things simple by keeping the focus on the quality of guests for them to have an enjoyable evening.
Strategy
With the brief in mind, we keep the invite list as tight as possible and left out any extras such as entertainment or speeches etc. We made sure there was a nice selection of people from various backgrounds, occupations etc. to ensure an interesting mix of guests on the night.
Results
As always, there was a high demand for places and the guest list was full with still weeks before the actual event; we also had to turn quite a few people away. We had around 200 guests (despite it being a Monday evening), everyone seemed to have an enjoyable evening sampling the sushi canapes and the ever popular teppanyaki room.
